Does Black work with Brown? A look for Vince Camuto

When it comes to my style, the only rules I try my best to follow are those that surround Islamic modesty. Everything else is out the window! So when Vince Camuto graciously invited me to their holiday campaign, I chose to style a stunning pair of boots with a brown mini bag because the old rules of black and brown clashing are remnants of the past.

I used the mini bag’s crossbody strap as a belt to close my maxi shirtdress and I loved the play of the checkerboard print dress with the croc print bag. The boots themselves also have croc print as well, mixed with suede and smooth leather which made it a fun look when you pay attention to the coordinating details. I paired the look with brown sunglasses and a black chiffon hijab draped gracefully over one shoulder.
