Top Off Your Style With These Hats Made Especially For Hijabis
Have you ever had the problem of trying to fit a hat over your hijab? Especially if you wear your hair in a bun, depending on the size and position of that bun, wearing a hat can become really difficult for hijabis. And imagine if you’ve got long, thick, braided, twisted, or loc’d hair - wearing a hat may be completely out of the question for you!
I love a game-changing hijab styling invention, and one of my favorites for a while has been the hijabi hat from Jamela Boutique. It is especially made with more headroom than any average hat or cap so you can wear it comfortably on top of your hijab. After all, more space is all we really needed!
How to Style
I own three of the Jamela Boutique hats and I love the versatility of the styles for year-round wear. When I headed to New York for Fashion Week back a few years ago, I styled streetstyle looks exclusively from hijabi-friendly Muslimah-owned brands and one of my favorite looks was the Jamela black Straw Boater hat styled with a floral pink and black ruffled dress - a perfect mix between structure in the hat and feminine flow of the dress. I’ve also enjoyed the wide-brimmed Bucket Hat at the beach multiple times - the hat added rustic charm and a unique silhouette that stands out in the best way. These hats would all look great paired with pretty summer dresses, flowy jumpsuits, or your favorite burkini!
“MAKING HIJAB TAN LINES HISTORY” -Jamela Boutique
Jamela started off her collection with straw hats, but since has expanded to styles for colder weather as well, such as her hijabi-friendly beret. I have been wearing mine non-stop! It’s incredible what a cute beret will do to a fall/winter look! Here are three Reels I created wearing the Jamela beret - click the image to watch the video :
I love highlighting another stylish find from a Muslimah entrepreneur to accommodate the versatility of today’s hijabi woman - thank you Jamela Boutique!
